The importance of microchipping
Microchipping is a safe, easy way to identify your pet, and it helps improve the chance that you’ll get your animal back if it becomes lost or stolen.
-
1 in 3 pets will get lost during their lifetime
A collar tag alone isn’t enough, as it can get damaged or fall off. When an animal is found and taken to a shelter or veterinary clinic, one of the first things staff do is scan it for a microchip.
-
Microchips provide permanent identification that is tamper-proof
This enables shelter or veterinary clinic staff to quickly find the animal’s owner and return the lost pet.
-
Microchips don’t track your pet’s location
They store a unique ID that links to your contact information in a pet registry, helping reunite you if your pet is lost and found.
